Also nearby
is a centerboard vessel, possibly a schooner.
Although close to the channel of the river and
submerged beneath 3-5 feet of water at high tide, the vessel was completely exposed at the seasonal
low tide.

The vessel lies
upright with the lowest portion of the hull buried in the bottom silts. Deadwood at one end,
possibly the bow, can be seen in the foreground of the photo image above. The centerbox or trunk is
present along the midline of the hull.

The centerboard
also survives, although it was found in several pieces. The pintle or spindle on which the centerboard
pivoted remains in place, as seen in the detailed image below.
